Elliot's

Minutes for Elliot's, a family-owned diner on Elliot St in downtown Lowell. Mainly known for hotdogs.

CTO: 0850
In Attendance: Ratbas, 4 other guys each sitting quietly at their own tables, owner and one employee. Plenty of trees and lamp posts for bike parking.

Order: $3 breakfast (2 eggs, toast, homefries, choice of meat, coffee). Served in under five minutes. Served on a styrofoam plate with a plastic fork. Substituted ice coffee for hot, no additional cost. All foods prepared exactly as they should be (nailed the homefries).

Plenty of natural lighting. Tiled walls provide an authentic classic atmosphere.

Other guys leave by 9. The last one puts his copy of the Lawrence Eagle Tribune where the trays would normally go

Radio is playing the oldies station. The oldies station is playing 80's songs.

More customers come and go, owner identifies them by name.

"Come on Eileen" plays from an old portable stereo too small to be called a beat box despite being from the era when that term was used.

Tech report: No wi-fi. Weak signal available from nearby Garcia Brogan's. Went with tether. No strange looks from anyone.

Financial report (including tax and tip): $4.18

Upcoming events: closed Memorial Day. Open Mon-Sat, 7a-10p. Closed Sundays.

CTA: 0925.

Coffee Shop on a Friday Morning

CTO: 930am

In attendance: Rat, 2 employees, guy on a laptop, lady eating ice cream and drinking coffee from another coffee shop.

Minor disagreement about the price of an item clearly displayed as a special. Quickly settled.

Lightly cooked items served up in a reasonable amount of time considering it's a college-student employing facility and not a 5-generation diner. Actual food items also reasonable under the circumstances.

Barbecue sauce unavailable. Motion made to go with ketchup. Motion passed unanimously.

Coffee served in 16 ounce Martha Stewart-looking mug. Beverage itself was candy-tasting as though the creamer was flavored. Employee apologized for making it too light.

Internet access flawless.

Financial report: $7 including tip.

CTA: 1010.

Voke students on the Aiken St Bridge arts projects
They would like to redo the silhouettes.
This is an on-going project
The bridge has 126 images
During a recent field trip they were able to save some of the original paintings by retouching them. Others had to be painted over.
This works towards VICA for the students.
The Voke was encouraged to check with the owner of the Spinners for funding.
They need paint and volunteers.

Update on flags program (US flags all up the business end of Bridge St).
Still needs donations.
40 flags have been ordered.

Dog/reservoir issue:
